Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CronBeats cron job monitoring service and related websites (collectively, the "Service") operated by CronBeats ("we," "us," or "our"). The Service is provided through CronBeats.com and CronBeats.io; these Terms apply to your use of the Service on either domain. By signing up, logging in, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
1. Description of the Service
CronBeats provides a cloud-based monitoring service that allows you to track the execution of scheduled tasks (e.g. cron jobs). You configure monitors and send "pings" from your systems to CronBeats; we alert you when expected pings are missing or late. The Service may include dashboards, integrations (e.g. Slack, email), an API, and other features described in our documentation. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable.
2. Account and Eligibility
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your account details current. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of consent in your jurisdiction) and not prohibited from using the Service under applicable law. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your password and API keys secure. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
One person or legal entity may not maintain more than one free account for the purpose of circumventing plan limits; we may consolidate or terminate such accounts.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Infringe the intellectual property or other rights of CronBeats or any third party.
- Transmit malware, spam, or any harmful or unauthorized code or content.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems (e.g. probing, scraping beyond normal use, bypassing rate limits or access controls).
- Use the Service in a way that could overload, disrupt, or harm our infrastructure or other users.
- Resell or redistribute the Service (or access to it) without our prior written agreement, except as allowed in your plan (e.g. team members within a workspace).
We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in abuse or fraud. We may also remove content or data that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to the Service.
4. Payment Terms
Fees. Paid plans are billed in advance (e.g. monthly or annually) as described on our pricing page. Fees are in the currency shown at checkout and are non-refundable except as stated in our refund policy or required by law.
Renewal and cancellation. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You may cancel from the Billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access until that date.
Price changes. We may change fees with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after the change constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you may cancel before the new fees apply.
Taxes. Fees are exclusive of applicable taxes (e.g. VAT, sales tax). You are responsible for any taxes imposed on your use of the Service unless we are required by law to collect them.
5. Your Data and Our Rights
Your data. You retain ownership of the data you submit to the Service (e.g. job names, configuration). You grant us a limited license to use, store, and process that data solely to provide and improve the Service and as described in our Privacy Policy.
Our rights. CronBeats and its licensors own the Service, including the software, design, and branding. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the Service (except as permitted by the API for normal use). We may use feedback and anonymized usage data to improve our products.
6. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RELIABILITY OR TIMING OF YOUR CRON JOBS OR THIRD-PARTY SYSTEMS.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- IN NO EVENT SHALL CRONBEATS, ITS AFFILIATES, OR ITS SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS) ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS.
- OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (OR, IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID, ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CronBeats, its affiliates, and their officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms or any law; or (c) your violation of any third-party rights or any content or data you submit to the Service.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time via Settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms or for operational or legal reasons, with or without notice where permitted.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. We may retain and use your data as described in our Privacy Policy (e.g. for legal or backup purposes). Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution) will survive termination.
10. Disputes and Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which CronBeats is established. Any dispute arising from or related to the Service or these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another region with mandatory consumer or data protection laws, you may have the right to bring claims in your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms limits your right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority where applicable.
11. Changes to the Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we may notify you by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service and may cancel your account.
12. General
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any plan-specific or order terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and CronBeats regarding the Service. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
If you have any questions about these Terms, contact us at [email protected].
